Life Right Now: Thank You Universe!

I am feeling quite reflective today and thought I might post on this blog for once. When I started this account, it was because my brother Travis, who may be the only one who has ever read this blog, encouraged me to write about the struggle I was having deciding whether or not to have a child. I bought books, I talked to friends but I found blogging about the topic wasn't something I was ready for. I guess I just wanted to write publicly now, that motherhood is incredible. Don't get me wrong, infancy was HELL and the adjustments our marriage had to make were... tough to say the least but, I had no idea how fulfilling and amazing it would be. My little girl is the best thing that has ever happened to me along side meeting my husband. I can't express how thankful I am that I have her. I hope one day she will read these words and know what a gift I consider her to be.

Life right now looks like this: Summer goes to bed at 7pm with a routine of 3 stories, (one she reads, one I read and one Daddy reads) followed by 2 songs, followed by one more song from Dad. Then around 3am Summer appears along side my bed, with sheepy and her blankie and crawls into our bed. On Mondays and Wednesdays I get up at 5am and quietly get ready for work, kiss everyone goodbye and Daddy takes Summer to "school" aka daycare. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I work from home so Summer often gets to stay home with me, though sometimes I have way too much to get done so I take her to "school" anyway. Thursdays also mean gymnastics class. Summer loves gymnastics and all of her friends there. Fridays are usually meeting days for me on the main campus so Summer goes to school for a few hours but I'm able to pick her up early. Every day I pick Summer up from school and we come home and play on the trampoline, go for walks, read books and get dinner ready. This is my favorite time of day because Summer is so talkative and fun to play with. She sings everything under the sun. Right now her favorites are: "Where are you Christmas" and "Frosty the Snowman" as well as "Farmer in the Dell" and "Head, Shoulder's, Knees and Toes". I can't believe how intelligent she is. I guess maybe every parent feels that way but WOW, the complex thoughts that come out of this girl's mouth?!?!? Amazing. The weekends are spent at the snow most of the time though we all have colds right now so this weekend will likely be spent at home.

Summer is very lucky to have incredible family around her even though my mom died and my father seems to have lost his marbles. Her Grama and Grampa (John and Dana) are incredible beyond description and her Aunty Christy, Uncle Tyson and cousins Victoria and Natalie are literally in our lives each and every week showering us with love. We aren't seeing enough of Grammy and Auntie Beth lately but that seems to ebb and flow with how much time everyone has. Our friends "Stalker" and Marissa are like family and pop in and out all the time, even our neighbors in our cul-de-sac are all absolutely amazing!!! The point is that, for the first time ever, I am surrounded by nothing but positivity, love and support everywhere I turn. It is an indescribable feeling. I guess I just want to say THANK YOU to the universe. So, THANK YOU UNIVERSE.

OK, enough for now. Too much work is sitting here beside me to ignore for much longer. :)
